35mm Film Tests

My Senior Year at Tisch led me to design two camera tests on 35mm film.

My first test was about exploring product photography. My subject was a sunburst Les Paul. This was shot on Kodak 5219 500T film stock loaded in an Arri 435. The subject was exposed by 2 Skypannel S60s and a Source 4 spotlight.

My second test explored double-exposure photography. I designed a day and night office scene intending to layer one subject’s eyes onto the other. The test went further into exploring the varying exposures between the stacked images. Meaning: normal/normal, -1/+1, and +2/-2 stops of exposure. I used 5213 200T film stock for increased contrast to highlight the double exposure.
